Upper Camp Program (Ages 9 to 12 )

About:

The Upper Camp program (ages 9-12) takes place on the upper hillside of our 8.5 acre campus. All sports, activities and field trips are age appropriate. Our 9, 10, 11 & 12 year-olds each have their own separate schedules for activities, swimming and sports. The center of camp is the “Barn”, a circa 1790-1810 German bank barn that houses the game room, reading center and camp manager’s office. All Campers will receive a Hopwood Camp t-shirt and one daily snack.

Special Days & In-House events:

Throughout the summer, Hopwood invites special guests to the camp to give hands on talks and demonstrations for campers. Special guests in the past include representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources, wild animal rescues, honeybee keepers, police K9 and Colonial American “living history” reenactors to name a few. Wednesdays are “Pizza Wednesday”. Thursdays are always a theme day or an in-house event. Upper and Middle campers have enjoyed such past theme days as Summerween, Olympic Day , Fiesta Day!, Carnival Day and Messy Mania. We are also excited to now offer in-house events where we bring the field trips to camp and eliminate the travel time! Our in-house events are age appropriate.
