Our lower camp program is designed for ages 3, 4 and 5. Small groups are supervised by experienced, competent teachers with the help of counselors. State mandated adult to child ratios are maintained (exclusive of lifeguards).
Campers utilize our school facility, Playgrounds and Pools. The children enjoy Arts & Crafts, Daily Swimming Lessons, Singing, Rhythm, Games, Stories and Nature Walks. Preschool campers are also invited to watch Talent Shows, Dances, Special Guests and Plays presented by the Middle and Upper campers. Much of our time is spent outdoors!
Lower Camp programs can be half day or full day. Programs include: 2 day / Tuesday & Thursday; 3 day / Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 5 day Monday through Friday. There is a 2 week minimum enrollment, however, the weeks do not need to be consecutive.
Our staff consists of experienced teachers & college students pursuing an early childhood education or elementary education degrees. All of our staff maintain strict clearances per the Department of Human Services (DHS) and are trained in CPR, First-Aid and water safety.
Hopwood Camp currently operates Monday through Friday from 9:00a.m. to 3:30pm. Full day programs are from 9:00a.m. to 3:30p.m. and Half – Day programs are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
All Preschool “Lower” Campers will receive a Hopwood Camp t-shirt.
All campers must be potty-trained to attend lower camp.
