In 1968, Ann and Richard Hopwood founded the Hopwood Nursery School and the Hopwood Summer Day Camp in 1981 (now the Hopwood School & Camp). Today, the Hopwood legacy and traditions continue across our school and camp and we are proud of the commitment of our community and staff in fulfilling the long legacy of Hopwood.
Our campus encompasses 8.5 acres in a country setting and offers a truly unique, year-round, indoor and outdoor learning experience. Open spaces, trees and wildlife offer a rich environment for children to learn, play, explore and interact. The school’s enclosed play yard alone is over 2/3 of an acre and includes an all-weather, 2000 sq. ft. covered play pavilion. When not in class, Hopwood children sled in the winter, chase butterflies in the spring, swim in the summer and jump in fall leaf piles! Hopwood connects outdoor and indoor learning experiences.
Our dedicated Director, Mary Prichard, talented teachers and counselors inspire creativity and curiosity in the children of our community every day. We are incredibly proud of our school and summer staff who bring enthusiasm, teamwork and joy to our school and camp community each and every day.
