Learn about our Hopwood Summer Camp!

About Us

Hopwood Camp is a day camp situated on 8.5 acres of wooded and open land in Towamencin Township and is the summer continuance of Hopwood School founded in 1968.  Our camp operates from mid-June through August. Our philosophy is deeply rooted in that “children learn by doing” and therefore, we provide activities which engage our campers in active participation. Our campers are encouraged to explore ways to work as individuals and as a team to solve problems and build long-lasting friendships.

Staff

Our counselors, lifeguards and support staff are comprised of teachers and assistants from the Hopwood School, local public school teachers, college students (many of whom are majoring in areas of childhood development / education), senior high school students and other energetic and qualified individuals chosen for their specific and general skills. All counselors maintain enthusiasm, honesty, dependability, creativity and an ability to support and encourage children. All staff have First Aid training. At least one staff member trained in CPR is available on campus at all times.
